john martorano is an artist and graphic designer from the wonderful Chicago suburb of Northbrook, IL. He is a member of the Chicago Graphic Designers Association, a member of the Art Directors Club, and a member of the Society of Illustrators. He also writes and blogs, mostly about graphic design and illustrators.

When he is not building and animating in his own projects, john is usually writing books and trying to get published. He is also the author of the book The Best and Worst Things About Being a Writer, and he is the co-author of A Guide to Better Books, a book about getting published.

While most of his work focuses on the art of illustrating, he also teaches a class on illustrating called “The Art of Book Illustration.” He also does a lot of public speaking on illustration and graphic design topics. His main books were the graphic design best-sellers Graphic Design: The Complete Book (2008), The Art of Book Illustration: A Guide to Better Books (2010), and The Art of Book Illustration: A Guide to Better Books Part 2 (2011).

It seems that when John Martorano was a young kid his parents encouraged him to go to the art school in his hometown of Hollywood. Of course, he didn’t make it out, but he did achieve some impressive grades and skills that he believes will make him a force in the world. He has said that he wants to be remembered for his contributions to the book illustration field, which he says has allowed him to improve his skills.
